Getting registered on Web Directories is a great way of attracting visitors to your site.
There a couple of reasons to take the time to get registered. Firstly you should expect to get traffic directly from them - they are obviously there for a reason, namely that people use them to find products and services.
Secondly, the search engines will index these pages and you will have created a link back to yourself. The higher Google Page Rank that the site has the better. So it's well worth taking the time out.
So which directories to use. Well first and foremost register your site at DMOZ which is the daddy of all directories. Be aware it can take an age to get listed in there though. Also make sure that you enter your site into the correct category. If you don't it will take even more time as it will simply get bumped around by different editors.
